History of Glen Tay Public School
Glen Tay Public School first opened its doors to students on Wednesday, May 1, 1968, following the amalgamation of fourteen small rural schools into one unified community. While the school began as a K-8 institution, it officially transitioned to a K-6 school in September 2014. The school’s official opening ceremony was held in November 1968, marking the beginning of its rich history.
Today, Glen Tay Public School is home to 106 students, who are more than just classmates—they are one big family. It is not uncommon to see older students helping and playing with younger students, a testament to the strong sense of community and mutual support within the school. This kind, caring atmosphere is cultivated by our dedicated staff and supported by an amazing group of parent and community volunteers.
As we look back on our history and forward to the future, we remain committed to fostering an environment of learning, care, and respect for all of our students.
