History of Glen Tay Public School
Glen Tay Public School first opened its doors to students on Wednesday, May 1, 1968, following the coming together of fourteen small rural schools into a single, unified community. While originally established as a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school, it transitioned to a Kindergarten to Grade 6 structure in September 2014. The school’s official opening was celebrated in November 1968, marking the beginning of its proud and enduring history.
Today, Glen Tay Public School is home to 106 students who truly feel like part of one large family. It is common to see older students supporting and playing with younger peers, reflecting the strong sense of connection and mutual care that defines the school. This warm, caring environment is nurtured by a dedicated staff and enriched by the generous involvement of parent and community volunteers.
As we honour our past and look toward the future, we remain deeply committed to fostering a learning environment grounded in kindness, respect, and support for every student.
